The Belgium international scored 87 goals in 166 games for the Merseyside outfit across two separate spells before leaving to join Manchester United in 2017.
Things didn’t really work out well for the 26-year-old at Old Trafford, and he is now plying his trade for Inter Milan in Italy.
Recalling his spell with Everton on Instagram, the centre-forward said: “Looking back I owe that club so much they gave me a chance and believe at 20 years old and I truly enjoyed my time there. The fans are amazing and it was a pleasure to play for such great club.”
In all honesty, the Merseyside outfit have struggled to replace Lukaku since he departed, with the likes of Cenk Tosun and Moise Kean – so far at least – failing to fill the void he left.

That is something that clearly hasn’t gone unnoticed by many supporters, who would take the Belgian back now if they had their way.
One said they “would do anything” for him to return, while another suggested he would shine under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
However, not every individual was keen on the 26-year-old, who was once described by former Everton director of football Steve Walsh as a “big baby”, returning to Goodison Park.
Did he play for Everton? Simple question but a lot tougher than you think…
It’s fair to say that he perhaps didn’t leave the club in the best possible fashion, having also reportedly handed in a transfer request in the summer of 2016 – something manager Ronald Koeman confirmed he later withdrew.
