Saliba has arguably been one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League alongside Virgil van Dijk in recent times, and as a result the Frenchman has become one of Real Madrid's targets for next summer. However, the Gunners are not very keen on losing their star man and have placed a £100 million ($124m) price tag for any club that wants to sign him as Saliba has a contract until the summer of 2027.

has now reported that Real Madrid's top brass have already held talks with Saliba's representatives over their concrete interest in the 23-year-old centre-back, despite knowing that they will have to undertake their largest-ever financial operation. That may suggest that Los Blancos are ready to reach Arsenal's asking price for the defender.
