Anthony Martial was an unused substitute as Manchester United swatted aside Swansea City 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Jesse Lingard buzzed around in the Frenchman’s absence, while Alexis Sanchez took up Martial’s favoured left-wing position and scored the goal he needed to boost his confidence after a stuttering start to his Old Trafford career.
United’s next assignment is a very different proposition, a trip to the Etihad Stadium to attempt to stop Pep Guardiola’s rampant Manchester City side winning the league there and then.

Given Jose Mourinho’s penchant for extremely conservative tactics in the big matches, it remains to be seen whether Martial – valued at £58.5m by Transfermarkt – will get the nod, but his pace on the counter attack could prove useful.
So, we’re asking you; should Mourinho start Martial at the Etihad? Let us know by voting in the poll below and keep your eyes peeled for the results ahead of Saturday’s game…
